Operations Manager 2012 SP1 [Video]
In video 5 of 6 in this series on System Center 2012 SP1, Infrastructure Architect Annur Sumar discusses using Operations Manager 2012 to maintain a business service after implementation by monitoring whether the deployment is actually performing the service that was intended.
How Operations Manager 2012 works: Operations Manager is used to manage the business service you’ve created, by viewing the entire service and everything it’s effecting. Operations Manager allows you to service health and operations dashboards, view sources of availability data and aggregate monitoring, and receive complete heterogeneous device support. Operations Manager also combines different operations platforms while keeping everyone on the same user interface.
What’s new in SP1? Extended support for Unix and Linux, Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 support, and enhanced .net application monitoring are all part of 2012 Service Pack 1. Availability reports help show if you’re actually delivering the service you promised. Manage alerts to see what they really mean so you can take action to address the problem.
