Communications Server brings with it the new centralized management store.
Its responsibility is to function as a "schematized definition of a deployment topology". That's a fancy way of saying the topology of Communications Server is centralized in one XML based store. What are the benefits of this?
- It makes Communications Server more easily validated, as the entire topology can be validated.
- It helps to choose a supported topology.
- It brings ease of management to multi-server deployments. Think about four front-end servers getting their configuration from the same place.
This is pretty impressive and will certainly add to configuration consistency as Communications Server is serving even more workloads.
