How to Connect to Nano server

Author by Concurrency Blog

So we have gone through deploying Nano server now let's connect and configure them.

Open a PowerShell window as the administrator.  Start the WinRM Service if not started already.

> net start WinRM

> Set-Item WSMan:\localhost\Client\TrustedHosts -Value "servername or IP" (alternatively you can user "*" but not recommended)

> Enter-PSSession -ComputerName "servername or IP" -Credential "servername"\Administrator

If it fails

If you tried to use the server name and it failed to connect and you verified the password works for the recovery console or try using the IP address instead.

If it still fails after this, statically set a DNS record for the Nano server and try again. I had this particular issue, it kept saying my password was bad.

So what can we do once connected to them?  Once connected you can remotely control your Nano Servers in PowerShell.  They are how however limited to what feature you have installed on them.  If you want something to run in PowerShell that you can't try to import the module.
