Bill Topel, a 30-year veteran of project-based consulting services and longtime Microsoft alliance specialist, has joined Concurrency, Inc. as Vice President–Sales and Marketing. Based from the firm’s downtown Chicago office, Topel will oversee sales and marketing firm-wide.
Concurrency, with offices in Brookfield, Wisconsin, Chicago and Minneapolis, is a Microsoft Partner of the Year-winning professional services firm serving mid-market to enterprise-sized organizations throughout the Midwest. The firm has been named to both Redmond Channel Partner’s new list of “Microsoft’s Top 200 U.S. Partners” and CRN’s “2016 CRN Solution Provider 500” list.
“Bill Topel’s background and expertise in the business of project-scoped systems integration is a perfect match for our organic growth strategy,” said James Savage, Concurrency’s founder and President. “There are no shortcuts to excellence. Since 1989, we’ve recognized incremental growth as the way to best ensure top-quality professional services for our clients. Bringing on Bill Topel to help guide our growth and solution delivery epitomizes our commitment to delivering real business value.”
To amplify Concurrency’s growth and help guide the firm’s regional practice development, Topel will work closely with Savage and other key leaders, including Kate Weiland, Vice President of Human Capital, and Nathan Lasnoski, Vice President of Solutions.
“Striving for perfection in our highly specialized pro-services niche requires top technical talent and talent development,” said Weiland. “But it also requires the perceptiveness and insights that come from many years’ experience focused on Microsoft alignment.”
Topel has founded three professional services firms, most recently MPS Partners where he was President until selling the firm in 2013 to SPR Consulting. He then stayed on as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer until joining Concurrency.
“I’m honored to join such a well-regarded firm and support its high level of service,” Topel said. “I look forward to further enhancing Concurrency’s already excellent educational event series and building connections with clients across a wide range of business needs.”
