Refreshing Infrastructure Strategy
A leading soft-drink supply company understands that in order to thrive, certain efficiencies must exist in their manufacturing process as well as in the technology platform that supports their business.
So, when the team had concerns regarding server, communication, collaboration and cost inefficiencies, they contacted the experts at Microsoft Gold-Certified Partner, Concurrency, to help them improve their infrastructure.
An authority on Unified Communications, Concurrency engaged the company in a Core Infrastructure Optimization (Core IO) strategic planning initiative. Through this proven methodology, the teams identified infrastructure challenges including: domain/ shareholder integration, email/directory integration, outdated servers, lack of collaboration platform, directory services design issues, network topology and design issues, storage concerns and more.
Lots of challenges cause lots of issues, so Concurrency put together a strategic plan with lots of solutions. The highly-specialized consultants designed an Exchange 2007 infrastructure plan, a Hyper-V server consolidation plan, licensing management and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS) deployment.
After only a two-month intensive unification process, the client realized significant cost, collaboration and strategy efficiencies. The company successfully migrated over 600 users from Novell GroupWise to Exchange 2007, consolidated servers 6:1 and virtualized the platform.
The “net, net”: virtualization, power and cooling costs have been reduced; mail platform is up to date, integrates with Active Directory and integrates with employees’ Windows Mobile phones.
