Insurance-Visionairy—Visionairy-Intranet

For more than 115 years, this major Wisconsin-based insurance company has provided valuable coverage and services to home, auto and business owners throughout the Midwest. This enterprise company prides itself on its relationships and its vision to be the company of choice for associates, agents, and policyholders.
While the company led its industry as a visionary, their intranet was somewhat of a contradiction to their vision. Comprised of a hodgepodge of static HTML/CSS pages and WSS 2.0 team sites, the internal website lacked a sense of unity, visual appeal and usability. Meanwhile, the varied architectures and little to no governance left users frustrated.
In desperate need of an overhaul, the insurance experts turned to the experts at Microsoft’s Gold-Certified Partner, Concurrency to develop a new, collaborative intranet portal for their 200 Information Technology associates.
Concurrency kicked the project into high-gear with a five-day SharePoint Deployment Planning Services (SPDS) engagement - introducing the company’s IT Department to the full features and benefits of an enterprise SharePoint platform. Through the engagement, Concurrency illustrated the business value and productivity improvements of a MOSS 2007 intranet portal migration and ended the session with an immediate strategy to focus on portals and collaboration and content management implementation.
Within weeks of the SPDS engagement, Concurrency embarked on a one-month initiative to deploy Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007. With their vast experience of MOSS and deep roots in ECM, the experts at Concurrency were able to implement a full infrastructure build and provide the technical skill, guidance and knowledge transfer to the insurance enterprise’s IT professionals to easily govern the site and introduce new sites.
Launched in December of 2008, the MOSS intranet site improved employee effectiveness and efficiencies.
